Electrical engineering hambley pdf. 01. Electric Light Orchestra – Mr. Blue Sky (5:03) Music is integral to the DNA of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and I got to witness that first hand during a visit to the film’s set last April. We were observing a scene where Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax (Dave Bautista) were walking on board Ego the Living Planet’s (Kurt Russell) spaceship, seemingly for the first time. There was no dialogue as they walked through the inside of the ship, marveling at technology that would be added in post-production. Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” was blasting from speakers, filling up the entire filming area and creating the experience of the song being a character in the scene alongside the cast.

Like with Guardians of the Galaxy, the entire soundtrack for Vol. 2 was played out loud in tandem with the scenes being filmed. While we were being there, we also managed to sneak a listen to another song that should be included in the finished film: George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord.” To tally the total, that makes three known songs that likely will appear on the soundtrack, if Jay and the Americans’ “Come a Little Bit Closer” (which played during a scene shown at Comic-Con) also makes the cut.Gunn wrote the songs into the script for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 just like he did the first movie. The success of Guardians’ soundtrack and its integration into the story was the encouragement he needed to go even deeper with Vol. 2. “I think that the soundtrack is an evolution from the soundtrack to the first movie,” explained director James Gunn about the direction he took this film’s music. “I think the first movie was made for a child that was a couple years younger than the child that this music was made for. So it's slightly more complex songs. I also think that we have a wider variety of songs. … We have a couple of songs that are enormous songs, which we didn't have on the first movie. We also have a couple songs that are almost completely unknown, or not very well known at all. So there's a bigger gamut between the popular and unpopular songs on the second album.”Playing the music in these scenes sets the tone for the entire Vol. 2 set experience, even if we did overhear Saldana and director James Gunn complaining about getting the songs that were being broadcast stuck in their heads repeatedly. Prince had died several days before our set visit, and Gunn paid homage to the music legend by blasting Purple Rain, changing the lighting so the typically orange and yellow-tinted spaceship was lit up purple. The cast has connected with the new direction of the soundtrack, especially Pratt. “James is a fantastic curator for that kind of music. Also, it’s probably better because we have more money,” he said with a laugh. “There’s some really powerful, amazing songs that we’re really excited to have. Definitely still very honest and as a narrative tool, there’s never a moment that the music isn’t justified and isn’t a part of the storytelling process. It’s not just an accompaniment or a score. It’s like the songs more so in this movie, it really helped tell the story.” The use of music has worked its way back into the plot as well. By the time Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 begins, the other Guardians know Peter Quill’s affinity for music, and they adjust accordingly.“In early scenes, what you see baby Groot here -- which he’s just Groot in the movie, but on set we call him baby Groot -- he’s setting up these little outer space speakers so that the music can play for all of them, because Quill likes to hear music when he’s fighting,” explained Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. “So, it does go more than just his headset, but it’s all based off of Vol. 2, and I would say that a couple of the songs -- and particularly one song -- has very unique lyrics that play in much more specific part into the plot, than any song did in the first film.” Like the soundtrack gets played up in Vol. 2, so too do the movie’s Easter eggs. “Oh my God, our Easter egg obsession is insane,” Gunn said, claiming he has the “dumbest Easter egg” in the film. “We have so many incredibly obscure Easter eggs in this movie that it's ridiculous. Yeah, we've been working hard on the Easter eggs.” The reason why? The way fans reacted to obsessively finding all the hidden Easter eggs in the first film. “I feel this need to do it now since people have been pouring over stuff so much,” said Gunn.

Like the Easter egg output will increase, so will the weirdness level.
